Forest Rise Ecoretreat

On the way to Perth, we revisited CU@Park Forest for a tall black and a flat white in gingin and we managed to meet the Roberts at the airport within 20 seconds of our arrival. It was sad to say good bye to our Dutch friends. We hope to see them on our return to Perth for dinner.
As we drove south, it got a bit greener. It was supposed to rain for the next three days. After 2 1/2 hours we arrived at The Forest Rise Eco Retreat where we were to stay for 4 nights. Each of us had a cabin in the woods. Andrew and Pauline were in the sacred kingfisher and we were in little eagle. Each cabin has a living room, dining kitchen area, bedroom and a bathroom. In the bathroom was a giant spa tub with a sky lite and full window facing the forest. Two bicycles, an outdoor shower and a barbecue on a lovely deck also facing the forest completed the package.

The forest is varied with gums, acacias, banksia, grass trees, and of course many wild flowers. Black cockatoos and an occasional kangaroo, walking trails. Simply lovely to hear the birds, soak and look at the stars. Smoke cheroot on the veranda. We took daily trips here and there but got to return to our little cabin.

Below are banksia in several stages. A flower on the left and two stages of the cones on the right.
